This fall, LivingHope will be offering Grounded in the Gospel, an in-depth Bible study for both men and women focused on understanding the good news of Jesus Christ and the many things He accomplished through His death and resurrection.
The gospel is at the center of the Christian faith, yet it can be easy to reduce it to a few familiar phrases without fully understanding the richness of what Scripture teaches. Over the course of this study, we will work carefully through the Bible to answer questions such as: What exactly is the gospel? Why did Jesus have to die? What did His blood accomplish? How can guilty sinners be made right with a holy God? What does it mean to be united with Christ? What did Jesus defeat through the cross? Why does the resurrection matter? And how should the gospel shape our identity, our daily lives, our discernment, and the way we talk with others about Jesus?
Each week will include large-group teaching, table discussion and Bible study, key gospel terms, Scripture memory, prayer for people who do not yet know Christ, and opportunities to practice explaining the gospel clearly and naturally. Our goal is not simply to gain more information, but to become so grounded in Scripture that the gospel becomes the framework through which we understand salvation, Christian living, and the truth claims we encounter.
We will begin with a Dinner and Orientation on Tuesday, September 22, from 6:00–8:00 pm. The regular study will meet Tuesdays from 6:00–8:00 pm, September 29–November 24.
Whether you have followed Jesus for many years or want to strengthen your understanding of the foundations of the Christian faith, you are welcome. Invite a friend and come prepared to open your Bible, ask questions, and grow in your understanding of what Christ has accomplished for us.
